We recently held the 2nd “Best-Selling Menu Grand Prix” at Yakitori no Hachibei!

Due to the impact of COVID-19, it was our first time hosting the event in four years. However, just like last time, we invited top star chefs as judges, making it a highly engaging and content-rich event.

This year, for the first time, part-time staff were also allowed to participate. As a result, we had an even wider variety of entries, which brought a lot of excitement to the event!

Amazingly, three entries from our part-time staff made it to the finals, and all three were awarded in the final selection!

Here are the prizes for this year’s winners:

  • 1st Place: 300,000 yen and a trip to Hawaii
  • 2nd Place: 150,000 yen and a trip to Vietnam
  • 3rd Place: 50,000 yen
  • Other Special Prizes: 10,000–50,000 yen

Additionally, we had a special exhibition by Chef Masashi Nakamura and Chef Chinatsu Fujiki, where they demonstrated how they would create some of the submitted dishes. They also shared valuable insights on how to develop menus, from “structuring” to “recipe creation.”

In the future, we’re planning to expand the scale of the event and possibly open it up to entries from other companies as well.
